Vacation Begins!!!

Today is the first day of our family vacation. I am incredibly exited about our two weeks at the lake. The opportunity to relax and enjoy uninterrupted family time doesn't happen often enough for my liking. Every year we take at least 2 consecutive weeks to decompress and, as Stephen Covey would say, sharpen our saws.

For many years we traveled back to the town where Rob grew up. It was charming, familiar, and nostalgic but it was also an extremely long drive. This year we opted to skip the drive and stay closer to home so we didn't spend the first and the last day of our trip in the car whining about the drive. We chose Seneca Lake, about 45 minutes from home.

The loveliest part of today was that we got up at a normal time, ate breakfast as a family, competed in a karate tournament, ran some errands and then headed out to the lake house. We were all settled in before dinner time and already I am feeling relaxed. I've only thought about work a bazillion times (which is a huge improvement for me) and I only responded to one email.

My plan for the next two weeks is very simple... maintain healthy eating habits, continue to build mileage while increasing my pace and savor the precious moments with my family without the intrusions of my every day life! I intend to pop in a few times and make sure to keep myself accountable. I have a giveaway coming on Monday so keep your eyes open for that. The most exciting part of the next 2 weeks for you all are the amazing guest posts I have coming to you from some of my favorite bloggers. I am fortunate to be surrounded by witty, inspirational and dedicated people who I m sure you will love as well. Please show them the graciousness you have always shown me !

I'm off now to go enjoy the amazing view of the sunset from our back deck. The morning will come soon enough and we have an 8 miler planned. I hope you enjoy this vacation as much as I do!!!
