Premier Protein Review and Giveaway!!!

About 3 weeks ago I received a box of goodies from Premier Protein to try and review and I am so very glad I did.

I was totally blown away by everything they had sent me to try.  I received 4 shakes (2 chocolate and 2 vanilla) and 6 protein bars in 3 flavors (Chocolate Peanut Butter, Double Chocolate, and Yogurt Peanut Butter)

I was so excited I dug right in!  My first instinct was to grab a Double Chocolate Protein bar and have at it.  I'd like to tell you all this story about how I hadn't gotten to eat lunch and worked all day...  but you would all know it was a sham.  So I had eaten lunch way too early and knew I hadn't prepped any dinner and was struggling to figure out what to make so we could have a family meal (Because as most of you can probably guess, Danger was staaarrrrrrvvvving.......).  I am always apprehensive about protein bars because sometimes they taste chalky, or mealy, or just plain yucky and when they taste bad it always tends to linger longer than it should.  So I hesitated for a second but then opened the packaging.  One small sniff of chocolate and I was done hesitating.  I loved all three flavors (that's huge because I'm usually not one to fall in love with yogurt coating on anything despite my love for yogurt). The only drawback was the calorie count but I was so full after each bar that I ate light the meal after or used them for breakfast on the go. Since the company actually intends fir them to be used as meal replacements, the calories really are a non-issue!!

I have fallen in love with the idea of having the protein shakes cold and ready to go in the fridge for a post workout pick me up and for a quick snack.  Most recently I refueled with one after my 11 mile run this morning with a chocolate one.  I also used one to make a smoothie for breakfast with bananas and peanut butter.  I tossed some chia seeds in for good measure and it kept me way full until my very late lunch.  I usually don't gravitate to vanilla anything bur found that if I added fresh fruit and chia seeds it was a surefire win as well.  I was a pretty big fan of these shakes, as was Rob and we will definitely be keeping these in the rotation.  They were right on par for calories and protien with about 130 calories and 30g of protein.

Now here is the great news for those of you itching to try these and wondering how and where you can get them.  You can get them at your local Costco or Sam's Club anytime (as long as you want lots of them) or for my midwestern friends you can swing by your local Meijer and grab them too.   But since we are celebrating the fact that I crossed 400 followers on Twitter (and then some), made a new Facebook page, joined Instagram and Pinterest, I am going to make it even easier for some of you to get your hands on some of this Premier Protein!!!

  17. Hmm. I'm in! I am quite wary of vanilla myself. You remind me it's time to get back to shakes. I go off them for awhile when I get tired of them.
